It's been a while since I visited yours and Braska's blogs (life, you know...) but I've been thinking of you a lot. I HATE the feeding aspect of life with Micah. It's stressful and overwhelming sometimes. We like our new SLP (she's a self-proclaimed "continuing ed" junkie) and she's working with Micah on PROMPT these days. Have you used that with Braska?<br>Would you consider emailing me? I put myself on Braska's email feed. It would be great to share experiences.Jenniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06617791426447246761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5039259874525185430.post-72574835835497163092010-03-11T08:43:54.596-08:002010-03-11T08:43:54.596-08:00That's great! That's great!Rodhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06205282289508086792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5039259874525185430.post-56523683789244927312010-03-11T07:51:25.559-08:002010-03-11T07:51:25.559-08:00I know what you mean about wanting to hang out in ...I know what you mean about wanting to hang out in NICU to tell parents not to eliminate all oral feeding. I'm not even sure why, but I knew that would be a big mistake with Moise, way back when. His doctors and I went nose to nose. They said, "nothing oral", I said, "He's getting oral feeds." My arguement? With his level of diabilities he would lose ability to swallow even his own secretions, he'd have no reason to want anything in his mouth, ever. There would be no oral stimulation, etc. We fought hard and won. I can't imagine the feeding issues we'd have otherwise. Oh that we could share with all parents of special kiddos.Karolhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10375070245303834905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5039259874525185430.post-81366591709599736352010-03-11T07:12:18.794-08:002010-03-11T07:12:18.794-08:00In case it's helpful, I wanted to mention that...In case it's helpful, I wanted to mention that the Oley Foundation has a bunch of resources for parents trying to teach their children to eat after being dependent on tube feeding.
